Every day at Olivet, we put faith to work and love into action. We see it when children and youth grow in faith, when neighbors receive food, when someone finds a caring community, and in the countless ways people give their time and talents to serve others.
Our 2027 Annual Appeal theme, Faith at Work. Love in Action., celebrates what God is already doing among us and looks ahead to where we are being called next. As we prepare for 2027, we are focusing on three key areas: deepening engagement with youth and young adults, expanding support for our feeding ministries, and sustaining the worship, learning, care, and service at the heart of Olivet.
Your generosity makes all of this possible. Every gift, large or small, joins with the gifts of others to support the people, programs, and ministries that help us share Jesus’ love within our congregation and throughout our community.
In the weeks ahead, we invite you to pray about these priorities and consider how your giving can help strengthen Olivet’s ministry in the coming year. Commitment Sunday is October 25, when we will offer our Statements of Intent for 2027.
Together, we can continue putting our Faith at Work. and Love in Action. as we share the story of Jesus' love for all people without exception.

MINIISTRY INITIATIVES
TOGETHER, WE INVITE GROWTH IN GIVING OF $204,000 ANNUALLY, OR $3,924 PER WEEK, TO SUPPORT THESE THREE AREAS OF MINISTRY IN 2027
Deepening Engagement with Youth and Young Adults
$81,500 ANNUALLY / $1,568 PER WEEK IN ADDITIONAL GIVING
Faith grows as people share life together. At Olivet, children and youth already have a community where they can encounter Jesus and experience grace. Expanding our Children and Youth staff will give us more ways to help young people grow in faith and know they belong.
We also want to strengthen Young-ish Adults through connection, service, prayer, and community. Gatherings across generations will give younger and older members time to learn from one another and serve side by side.
Lay ministry training will prepare members to visit people who are homebound, welcome visitors and new
members, and take active roles in worship and service. Your generosity helps people form lasting relationships and
find meaningful ways to share their gifts.
Expanding Support for Our Feeding Ministries
$13,000 ANNUALLY / $250 PER WEEK IN ADDITIONAL GIVING
Food on the table can ease a hard day. Olivet’s Food Pantry responds to that basic need with care and respect for our neighbors. As hunger has grown in our community, the pantry has seen the need firsthand. It now distributes food twice each month, typically serving 150 to 200 clients.
In 2027, we will work alongside the Food Pantry to support the good work already taking place. Our gifts will help sustain and strengthen its efforts to address hunger in our community.
This ministry brings together food, financial support, and volunteers who give their time. Through their service and our shared generosity, neighbors receive food and care. Love takes action in something as simple and necessary as a meal
Sustaining Ministry Excellence
$109,500 ANNUALLY / $2,106 PER WEEK IN ADDITIONAL GIVING
When we gather for worship, learn together, or receive a caring visit, many people have helped make that moment possible. Pastors, musicians, staff, lay leaders, and volunteers bring their gifts. Technology, supplies, curriculum, and gathering spaces support their work.
Our building holds worship, meals, learning, fellowship, and service throughout the week. Administration and daily work behind the scenes help these ministries serve people well.
Costs continue to rise. Greater giving will sustain our staff, facilities, worship life, and other ministry resources. It will give those who lead and serve the support they need to focus on our mission: telling the story of Jesus’ love for all people without exception.
Please pray for the people who share in Olivet’s ministry: children and young adults growing in faith; neighbors receiving food; people who are homebound; and those who teach, visit, welcome, sing, and serve. Give thanks for our pastors, staff, lay leaders, and volunteers.
Then consider your own response to God’sgenerosity. What gift could you offer with joy to support this ministry in 2027?
Sunday, October 25 is Commitment Sunday. During worship, you are invited to offer your Statement of Intent as an expression of your planned giving for 2027. You may use a physical Statement of Intent or complete your intent online.
Thank you for the faith, love, service, and generosity you already share. We trust God to keep working through Olivet as people encounter Jesus, experience grace, care for neighbors, and tell the story of Jesus’ love for all people without exception.
FAITH AT WORK. LOVE IN ACTION.
God gives first. Together, we respond.
